This is a very unproblematic and delicious marinade for beefiness kabobs. I cutting the recipe in one-half for about ane.5 lbs. of meat. I used olive oil instead of veg.oil, low sodium soy sauce, and dijon for the prepared mustard. I left out the meat tenderizer, put everything into a ziploc handbag and marinated it for over 24 hours. I skewered the meat separate from the peppers, onions, and cherry tomatoes as they cook at unlike rates. The meat was very tender and total of flavor - perfect with a side of rice.

This marinade is something else! My boyfriend and I made shrimp and steak kabobs tonight using this marinade. I only had about 4 hours to marinade but it turned out amazing. I can only imagine what a steak would taste like later on 24 hours in this stuff. I wouldn't alter a affair! I made a double batch and non only marinated the steak merely also the shrimp, mushrooms, carrotts, and zucchini. I used a seperate purse for the veggies. Besides, used a low sodium soy sauce and used as much as the recipe called for and it was first-class, not too salty at all. I would give it more stars if I could!

Gauge what? We tried it on venison. We cut dorsum on the oil and rather than msg we used montreal steak spice for a bit more zip. All I tin can say is WOW!!
06/03/2008
FANTASTIC!! I doubled the recipe and permit a combination of sirlion and chicken chunks marinate for several hours. I reserved some to brush on while cooking. I as well used pineapple chunks, cerise tomatoes, green peppers, ruby onions, and mushrooms on our kabobs. I cooked them under the broiler and brushed the kabob with the marinade several times during cooking. I volition exist using this once again and again.
06/04/2000
Made the meat very tender. Very Good! Adjacent time I will add a niggling more spices. My son and his friend just walked in and grabbed a kabob. My son'southward friend said the meat is very flavorful. After eating the leftovers my husband said to come up back and modify my rating to First-class (5 stars).
ten/17/2003
excellent! the mustard actually gives this a good taste!! i doubled the recipe and used about 6 cloves of garlic plus maybe one/two t. of garlic powder. Marinate your steaks overnight grill em iv-six min on each side. perfect!!
08/xviii/2003
I made this for my mom's birthday and everyone RAVED over information technology!! Our neighbors were intrigued by the smell and so now I accept to give out tons of copies of this recipe!! What a hitting! I used about 3/iv cup oil and instant beefiness broth and seasoning mix instead of the msg. I also used Bragg Liquid Aminos instead of soy sauce (they have the SAME taste and both are made of soy beans, Braggs is only way healthier). Nosotros will use again and again!!!!!
02/09/2007
This recipe was amazing for beef kabobs! I used spicy brown mustard because that's all I had, and let it set overnight as it says. It was and then adept that I wanted to attempt it on something else. I chose pork in a slow cooker- it was way too overpowering. I guess I learned my lesson. Tin't have too much of a good matter. ;) Information technology Definetly deserved 5 stars with beefiness, and the recipe now stays with all my family unit recipes that I plan to pass on when I take children one solar day.
12/14/2005
Excellent! Used this on cubed beef for our big BBQ and there were no left overs. We added reddish and orange peppers to the scewers along with a mushroom here and there. Instead of soy sauce I used Tamari Sauce since it's non equally salty. I besides fabricated extra marinade for portabella mushrooms since my sis is a vegetarian. She absolutely loved them! Information technology'southward bully over rice! too!
01/19/2006
Excellent! I've only used chicken, and it'south so tasty! If you just marinate the whole chicken breast, it won't totally penetrate the meat. It's better to cutting it upwardly...go for the kabobs! Sometimes I apply just a tad less soy sauce...if you have very small pieces of meat, they will tend to taste too salty.
06/08/2005
This recipe is very similar to one my mom has used for years, simply with Worchestershire and much more oil added. The added ingredients made all the difference in the world. The meat was so tender and delicious! Nosotros are definitely going to go on this one.
09/12/2011
There are a lot of ingrediants in substitution for little flavour. The taste was "fine" but I didn't think it was all that flavorful. I might add together a trivial cumin or cayenne pepper if I were to use once more.
07/09/2008
I was expecting a bully marinade thanks to the few ratings I read that were 5 stars. I should of looked at the other ratings. I made this this night, marinating the steak for 24 hours, and I was very disappointed. This tasted very salty like it was straight soy sauce. I followed the recipe to a tee. I definitely volition non exist using this recipe over again...
06/10/2012
Awesome! I cut the recipe in 1/2 since I was doing a smaller portion. And I only marinaded the veggies (zuccini, thai eggplant, mushrooms, bell pepper, ruby-red onion), as I was grilling hamburgers. I had less than an 60 minutes to marinade, but decided it was better than nothing. The veggies are astonishing! I would imagine meat would be awesome likewise. Oh I didn't use any meat tenderizer, for obvious reasons, lol. Cheers for posting!
06/07/2010
used this on shrimp kabobs w/ mushrooms, broccoli and onions. i just had about 3 hours to marinate and they turned out groovy! this volition exist my new go-to marinade for ANYTHING!!
07/27/2014
I made this for beef kabobs and added 1/four loving cup of sugariness chili sauce. I as well used dijon mustard and let information technology marinate for 4 hrs. It was astonishing. I drizzled a piffling bit of the marinade over skewers of mushrooms, onions, crimson and yellowish peppers and yellowish cherry tomatoes. Even my children who commonly don't like any of the vegetables loved information technology. This is a new family favorite!
05/xv/2009
I made this marinade for steak and craven kabobs on female parent'due south day. The merely changes I made were to utilize light soy sauce and no meat tenderizer. This is the best marinade I have always tasted. My begetter already requested this for begetter'south day. I marinated the meat for 12 hours and boiled the leftover marinade from the steak handbag to brush on the onions and peppers while grilling. Awesome!
09/08/2009
I marinated beef for kabobs and it was succulent!! Very easy and quick to make with ingredients most already have on mitt. I love the mustard sense of taste in it. My husband idea it was the all-time narinade he'south ever tried!
01/07/2012
I made chicken with this. I also marinated green peppers and mushrooms, both of which turned out really well! In the left over veggie marinade sauce, I as well cooked pearl onions. The chicken was probably a 3.v.
07/eleven/2005
Awesome - hubby loved it. I used this to marinade thin pork steaks so brushed some of the marinade over the veggies (hubby thinks he doesn't similar kabobs - but its the same matter, just not on the stick! lol) He loved this so much he said we volition have to try it out on london broil - and the best statement "I would like to consume like this every nighttime!"
12/11/2004
Cheers to all who accept spoken so favorably of my marinade. I just beloved seeing all of your variants and trying them as well. Now I too accept taken then many others advice and have also been cutting dorsum on the oil myself. Thanks, JON.
07/29/2005
My mother has made this marinade for shish kebab for over 35 years, dorsum when it went by the proper noun "California Marinade" on her recipe bill of fare. She added 1/four tsp onion powder which I still do, and over the years institute that using lower-sodium soy sauce reduced the saltiness (which we never minded!) and let the beef/craven/pork/lamb flavour come through. Really tenderizes the meat & tastes fabulous skewered & grilled with cherry tomatoes, zucchini medallions, onion quarters, white mushrooms, bong pepper chunks and even fresh pineapple. Baste frequently with this luscious sauce & serve with steamed rice &/or fresh corn for a satisfying meal.
08/06/2008
I utilise olive oil, clasp a real lemon, and leave out the meat tenderizer. I also prefer low-sodium soy sauce because it gets too salty after hours of marinating, in my opinion. But this recipe has been such an crawly addition to my rotation of meals. Anybody that has it LOVES it. I almost always just use craven and veggies (the mushrooms are fantastic) but shrimp are groovy, too! This is a standby Company Dinner for me and it's always a success.
08/16/2005
This is very skillful! I would have given information technology 5 stars, simply I thought information technology was a bit too salty, as did other reviewers. I volition apply it again, for sure, but I'll make an adjustment of low sodium soy sauce, or perhaps a couple of tablespoons of chocolate-brown sugar. I used information technology on rib steaks and grilled them. Very yummy!
12/09/2010
Tried a one thousand thousand kabob marinades over the past few months. This was the ONLY one that wasn't overwhelmingly lemony. Really enjoyed. The flat smelled great besides. Update: Fabricated if for the entire family for NYE using cheap rump steak. The kabobs were admittedly melt in the mouth. Fantastic marinade. They marinated for about 5-6 hours
06/09/2010
This marinade is the BEST Always!!! I made beef kabobs using this marinade and they turned out so good !!!!!! Juicy and so full of season. I highly recommend this to everyone. I will admit, I am not a big mustard fan, but I had no trouble with it in this recipe. Its a must attempt recipe !! Making again tomorrow for dinner.
09/01/2005
I used this recipe to marinate a flat iron steak for about four hours. It was delicious and my kids thought they were eating a very expensive cutting of beef. I'll use this marinade on many more recipes.
06/30/2007
Flavorful! Reduced oil to 3/4 c, soy sauce to 1/2 c and marinated cubes of striploin overnight. I did use the Marinated Grilled Vegetables marinade for the vegetables on the skewers because I thought too much of same seasoning would be monotonous. The meat was fabled - tender and flavorful. Will definitely be making this once more.
08/04/2011
I have used this with beefiness, craven, and pork, OMG this marinade is merely AMAZING!!!
05/19/2010
We had a frozen cutting of beef that was on the tough side...this marinade turned information technology into FANTASTIC, melt in your rima oris steak on out kabobs. I only had time to marinate it for 2 1/2 hours...I can simply imagine information technology would be even better if I had more than time to marinate it! Will use once again. Easy, cracking season, tough steak turned to gilt!
07/25/2011
We doubled this recipe to use for shrimp kabobs. Nosotros marinated them for about an hour. They were delicious. Our skewers had only the shrimp and we put 5 on each skewer. We turned them once...cooked about 3 minutes. Everyone loved them!
09/05/2002
Cracking Recipe! Family unit's favorite marinade, and friends love it also. Dropped the MSG, and accept had it on beef, pork and Chicken. Chicken seems to absorb the flavor the best. After marinading over night, I remove the meat, bring the marinade to a boil, then after information technology has cooled, use it to baste the kabobs on the grill. I have played around by calculation 1/2 tbs fresh ginger, substituting one/2 of the lemon juice with Pineapple, etc, but the original is corking.
01/19/2006
Absolutely fantastic... I served these at a BBQ last summertime and ane of the guests who is a chef asked me for the recipe! Didn't change a thing except marinated the veggies as well :)
09/02/2012
This was very tasty. I let it marinade for iv hours and information technology was tasty fifty-fifty then! I did find the mustard gustation to be a bit overpowering at first, simply every bit I ate more, the more than I enjoyed information technology. I am excited to use this marinade for a total steak!
03/24/2012
This was very expert. We used olive oil instead of vegetable oil and lime juice in identify of lemon (had no lemon). It was very good on both the steak and shrimp we had, every bit well as the veggies, all of which we marinated in separate containers. I added a raspberry/italian dressing to the veggies and shrimp, as we needed a little more marinade for the amount of food on hand. Piece of cake to brand and skillful on everything. Thanks for sharing.
06/21/2011
this really good... I cut the recipe in one-half and added 1/two loving cup of pineapple juice and i tsp. of Citrus Grill Seasoning. Citrus Grill Seasoning is made by the Tone company. Sometimes y'all can detect it at Sams Guild. I had to buy it on the internet this time. Sams was out of it. Slap-up stuff!
06/02/2007
Today I tried this recipe, I followed it to the tee. Expecting a wonderful flavor I was highly disappointed.I establish it to be very salty and although it was ok on chicken it did non piece of work with the beef.Surely there has to be something better out in that location.
08/25/2004
This is pretty much all I use when making kabobs. Crawly flavor. I usually halve the amount of oil suggested and I don't actually notice a divergence in gustation. I similar to cut downward on fat when I tin can. :) Thank you for the recipe. This is a keeper!
11/20/2007
It's a hitting every time and our guests e'er ask for the recipe!
09/25/2010
I love this recipe. After trying a few store bought marinades, this one tops them all. I will not buy another steak marinade. I use it on grilled steaks, chicken and veggies. My family loves it.
04/xvi/2014
good recipe but very salty maybe use a low sodium soy sauce
08/23/2010
This was a fabulous marinade. I cut the beef into chunks and marinaded for most 5 hours. Information technology was perfect.
03/14/2006
I LOVE this marinade. We have used on everthing from hamburger, steak and potatoes to zucchini. It is great on everything. We sometimes make a double batch leaving out the oil and melt it down to form a dipping sauce. YUMMMMMM! Yous sould definetly try this!
04/10/2010
Unbelievable marinade as is!! Hither's a cooking tip. Sear kabobs on a BBQ grill on loftier (don't let them burn). Identify kabobs in an oven at 350 degrees for about 10-12 minutes until washed to taste. Put kabobs on a basin and cascade the juices over them. Permit sit for 5-10 minutes and and so serve (allows juice to go dorsum into the meat). Some of the juiciest, tastiest meat you'll always have!! Works very well with chicken and steak. Has a very nice smoky taste. Some people fifty-fifty swore I used liquid smoke!
06/22/2003
This was really bully. I made it for my parents and grandmother, and they all gave information technology v stars. I followed some other people's communication, and cut down on the oil. I also put Dijon mustard, and Montreal steak spices. It only marinated for iii or four hours, and it added flavor to the meat without overpowering it. Actually delicious!
05/31/2011
Craven came out so tender and tasty. Marinaded for 5-6 hours. Perfect as is - no changes made.
10/21/2011
wonderful flavoring!
07/13/2004
Nosotros were disappointed... which completely surprised me after all the five star reviews. I halved the recipe and marinated our 1lb round steak for 24 hours. Tasted strangely sweet and very mustard-y (I used plain old yellow mustard because the recipe didn't specify dijon).
06/29/2003
Scrumptious! Nosotros used this marinade with skewers of tomato, onion, zucchini, scarlet peppers, green peppers and mushrooms and basted it every 1/2 hr over a 3 hr flow and so bbq'd them. The taste was incredible! (Didn't use any MSG)
01/25/2012
Very yummy!!!
ten/eleven/2011
This is absolutely delicious. Used information technology on alligator Kabobs and it was perfect.
04/21/2010
This was delectable on the meat, but I didn't like it on the veggies very much (Ithink it was the mustard on them I didn't similar). Marinated the meat in it overnight and information technology was so tangy and delicious!
03/29/2007
This was a wonderful marinade and easy to make. Much better than the bottled ones. Would probably be not bad on a whole steak instead of just kabobs. I highly recommend this recipe!
04/01/2012
I halved this for one pound of shrimp; later on putting together the kebabs and before grilling, I also brushed some of the marinade over the veggies. This was very skillful. It was a bit salty, but since the shrimp had marinated and the veggies hadn't, information technology was really only the meat that was too salty. I am definitely keeping this recipe to make again!
08/06/2006
Ecellent marinade, thought the ingredients were different and then I was skeptical just it fabricated the best kabobs I permit it marinate overnight and used depression sodium soy sauce and it was not to salty, next time I recall I will endeavour Dijon mustard! Thanks for the mail!
12/10/2005
Great recipe! This is so easy, as all the ingredients are already in my kitchen. Nosotros have used it on almost every meat that we have cooked, and it turns out groovy every time. We simply use the tenderizer on cheap cuts of meat.
05/08/2012
I used this marinade at a neighborhood BBQ. Everyone asked for the recipe. I did make a few changes. I used 1/two cup vegetable oil and i/2 cup olive oil. I did not add the meat tenderizer. I marinaded my meat and vegetable in different bags and then used the extra veg marinade to brush as the kabobs cooked. Succulent!
06/12/2006
Similar other people have commented it is a scrap salty afterwards having this in the refrigerator for near 18 hours. I'll endeavor information technology again adjacent time either using low sodium soy sauce or reducing the time in the refrigerator to 12 hours or less. I used acme sirloin for the kebobs merely will also experiment with chicken old.
09/25/2005
I tried this recipe with moose meat, and information technology was terrific. I used depression-sodium soy sauce and made kabobs with the meat and some peppers and pineapple. Everybody loved it. I will definitely use this again.
11/23/2014
I take been using this marinade recipe every Christmas for the concluding two years when we decided not to practise traditional turkey and ham Christmas dinner. It has been a hit with my whole family. That means 18+ people that come for dinner. Also use the same marinade for the chicken kabobs; gotta take chicken for the non red meat eaters.
05/01/2000
Made this Marinade 4/30/00. Piece of cake to make and the Steak tasted but like Restaurants. Needed no table salt, pepper or Steak sauce at the tabular array. Husband loved information technology! Cheers Jon! NancyCarole
06/02/2007
A guaranteed instant hit. You can't go wrong with this marinade.
04/17/2005
I found this recipe when I was searching for something new to do with kabobs. We love this marinade and accept sinced used it on all kinds of meat, most recently on steaks that nosotros grilled. I cut back the oil and added just a drop of liquid smoke. Delicious! This recipe is a keeper.
05/14/2006
I plant this recipe simply nigh an hour and a half earlier nosotros were scheduled to eat. So, my meat just had about an hour to marinate. I was quite pleased and probably wouldn't marinate it longer than that because the marinade is very salty and I retrieve too much longer in it and the meat would have been too salty for our gustation. I fabricated kabobs of steak, greenish pepper and pineapple and marinated both the pepper and the meat and was very pleased with how it turned out.
07/12/2014
This was a large hit at a recent barbecue. Nosotros used information technology to marinate tenderloin we grilled. Everyone thought it was crawly!! I followed the recipe equally written except I used less Worcestershire sauce. A quarter cup seemed to much for our tastes. We did marinate the meat overnight.
10/12/2011
This is a delicious marinade. I use less oil (about i/2 cup) and dijon mustard. Wow! Anybody loves it and asks for the recipe! I utilise boneless craven thighs and tenders and marinade for 24 hours! Don't marinade your veggies too long... the lemon juice starts to break it downwardly. After removing the veggies from the split up marinade bag, I boil the leftover marinade and put it at the table to pour over the dish! I serve with Jasmine rice....Yumma!
05/25/2010
Very skillful, particularly on chicken.
09/06/2004
This was tasty. Side by side time I will reduce the lemon to ane/3 as I thought it was a picayune overpowering.
10/thirty/2011
But amazing. I didn't alter the recipe i bit and information technology was spot on.
06/28/2014
I cut the lemon juice back to 1/4 cup, omitted the pepper and msg. I added half-dozen more cloves of garlic for a total of 8, which I so put through a garlic press. I suggest using proper name brands to get best outcome.
12/22/2014
Excellent flavor. Kids didn't like it. Just kids don't similar anything! Ha ha
08/26/2001

06/02/2003
We made this recipe with Steak and Chicken Kabobs and information technology was simply wonderful. Very overnice mix of flavors.. fifty-fifty on the veggies. I fabricated up the kabobs and marinated the whole thing, skewer and all for 6 hours, and it was wonderful. We had some leftover, and I simply can't look to have these after they've been sitting for 24 hours!
08/04/2009
This marinade is Awesome!!! My fiance took some meat to work and let them effort it and in that location were a LOT that asked for the recipes (it was all guys, too!) The second time, nosotros used it on sparse cut pork chops and it was still absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!! This recipe is DA Flop!! :) Definitely try it!! It is VERY worth it!!!! A++++++++++++++++++++

03/28/2006
This sauce is peachy. I also used low sodium soy sauce. I marninated beef overnight, my husband already wants to know when nosotros are having it once more! Thanks!
07/01/2004
This was a great recipe, I used pork tenderlion and it turned out fantastic. I did not add together the meat tenrerizer since I was usig a tender cut of meat. I fabricated a half batch and it was enough, I will make this over again with all kinds of meat.
04/03/2007
This is a really excellent marinade - we utilize it all the time for kabobs.
04/30/2004
FANTASTIC! This is the best recipe for kabobs. 1/2 the oil and montreal steak seasoning were splendid suggestions from other reviewers. Adjacent time I volition try marinading the veggies for a brusk flow of time too. Vidalia onions made these kabobs so very.
07/02/2000
this one is very skillful for using on cheap cuts of beef,I added A1 steak sauce, alittle crimson vino vinegar and grilled my beef on a open fire made with apple forest, delectable
02/07/2007
Ever excellent
07/09/2007
Excellent for Kabobs or Flank Steak. It'south a bit as well salty for regular steak
05/02/2004
I marinaded chicken breast I had cut in cubes for a "pot-luck" kabob night we had with some friends. Our son got sick at the last minute, then my husband took this to the party without me. He told me everyone raved and asked for the recipe. I did make a slight change, I use 1/viii c. country dijon and 1/8 c. yellow mustard and did not utilize the meat tenderizer. Volition pull this recipe out the next fourth dimension I need a high WOW factor!
01/12/2008
This recipe is excellent. I cut information technology down to ii servings and use it to marinate london broil (aprox ane 1/2 lbs). It always turns out tender and flavorful. I also substitute low salt soy sauce, dijon mustard and leave out the meat tenderizer. This has been our standard and favorite marinade for over a year now.
05/12/2013
Yum. Just made this. Added a bit more garlic, a slash of red wine and a splash of Bovril. Replaced meat tenderizer with a couple of teaspoons of Montreal Steak Spice equally suggested earlier. Huge hit with the unabridged family!!
08/03/2003
Yum, yum, yum! I accept used this marinade on chicken and steak kabobs, and both were succulent. I also substituted various spices for the MSG. I marinated the meat overnight and so a few hours before cooking, I skewered the kabobs with the meat, greenish & yellow squash, mushrooms, orange pepper, red onions & tomatoes and marinated for the terminal few hours. They looked gorgeous and tasted like sky--got me lots of compliments from guests! Thanks for a neat recipe!
07/27/2019
So easy and it came out nifty! Anybody has been requesting the recipe!
08/25/2011
Awesome as written. I plant iv hours to exist plenty of time for beef sirloin. Next time I might try reducing the oil past one-half. I didn't find it Too oily, but I retrieve it might be just every bit adept with less.
05/twenty/2007
Shish kabob is ane of our favorites for the grill, and so I looked forrad to trying this recipe. I wasn't disappointed; it was fantastic. I used cubed craven breast and sirloin. I've tossed my collection of other marinades and settled on this i.

07/31/2004
Succulent! I followed the recipie exactly (used fresh lemon juice) and marinated both beef tenderloin and craven for grilled kabobs. The taste and tenderness were perfect. For the leftover meat, I turned it into a stirfry with rice and veggies and that was succulent too.
02/21/2011
Very good
06/26/2000
I really similar this marinade! I omitted the meat tenderizer and used chinese spicy mustard.
03/17/2015
Astonishing!!! All-time kabobs I've ever had nosotros used this recipe on steak and Chicken And they were both delicious!!
04/01/2012
Did not treat the flavor of this marinade. I remember it may have been the lemon juice considering it had a "tang" to it that I only didn't care for.
06/27/2000
Very good, however a little on the oily side. Side by side time I'll cut dorsum on the oil.
